This project was funded by Earthwatch Institute through a grant from the National Geographic Educational Foundation. Thanks to those organizations for making science and geography come alive for our students and teachers.
The Connection:
This past summer we observed a phenomenal number of Monarch butterflies all over Western Massachusetts. We gathered over 100 eggs and caterpillars and raised them at school. One thing we were all wondering about was: ?hy were there so many more Monarch butterflies around this year than previous years?
